Use One Piece of Content 10 Ways

Use One Piece of Content 10 Ways

Become a Content Rockstar Today

The digital content world; you have genius ideas, create something amazing to share with the world, and finally hit “Post” only for it to be old news after 15 minutes. It’s a never-ending cycle that comes alongside having your own brand.

Can you relate?

It could be a Facebook post, blog post, YouTube video, Instagram reel, a pdf opt-in, podcast, news article, email, etc. –the list truly goes on and on. It doesn’t matter what type of content it is, it’s about knowing how to use the content in a way that lasts, which is the way that brings the most value to your audience.

That means first, choosing the mediums where your audience spends the most time. Is your dream client spending her mornings listening to podcasts? Or is she scrolling her Instagram feed during her work break. Maybe it’s both! Whatever is true for your target audience, is what you should capitalize on.

Next, how can you do this in a way that doesn’t have you spinning in circles creating content for each medium or platform? Create ONE piece of content and use it in multiple ways. Here’s how.

Step One

Start with your most valuable medium that you like to create! For this example, let’s say a blog post.

Step Two

Share that piece of content on other platforms (that you regularly show up in). For example, you can share the link to your blog post in a…

  • Facebook Post
  • Facebook Story
  • Instagram Post
  • Instagram Story
  • LinkedIn Post

Step Three

Take that original piece of content and alter it to apply it to other mediums. For example…

  • Write about the problem you solve within the blog post into an email to your email list. Have the primary call to action be the link to your blog post to read more! You could even simplify this by pulling part of the blog post copy into the email and linking to the full blog post to read more.
  • Talk about the blog post in a video and at the end of the video have the primary call to action to be to view the blog post. Post this video on YouTube, Instagram, and even Facebook. Pull the audio from that video and share it as a podcast. That’s four ways to share that piece of content with one video!

Bonus

Take your blog post copy that you’ve written and publish it as a LinkedIn Article. Same piece of content shared on a different platform!

Just like that by creating one piece of content, you now have 10 additional ways you can use that same piece of content! Now, this is just an example. You may find that you can use one piece of content 20 ways depending on the different platforms and mediums your business uses. Or you may find that one piece of content can be shared in five different ways! Whatever it is for you, is perfectly fine.

Share these 10 pieces of content over the course of two weeks to cover more of your marketing calendar. Because you’re posting it in a fresh and relevant way, you can do that! This also allows you to batch your content out so that you don’t have to think of fresh ideas every single day.

We Like to Keep things Simple Around Here

Imagine the content you’ll create with two-four fresh ideas a month! That seems a lot more doable than 30 fresh ideas a month, doesn’t it?

Quality over Quantity: Rather than coming up with multiple ideas a month, simplify it to a handful of real value you can provide your audience. This will increase your overall engagement and most importantly, your leads.

Happy content creating!
